Visit Sydney’s northern beaches. See attractions that most Sydney-siders have not seen and few tour operators venture to.
About a 50 minute drive from Sydney’s CBD, Barrenjoey lighthouse sits on the hammerhead tip of the Palm Beach peninsula. The peninsula boasts gorgeous views of Pittwater, Palm Beach and the coastline leading down to Sydney heads. Walk up the broad old stone road to the lighthouse, and return via Smugglers Track.
Head to Summer Bay, the place famous for Home & Away. From Summer Bay, make tracks for Palm Beach, a coastal walk on the ochre sands, distinctive to the northern beaches.
Lunch is fish and chips, from the locals’ favourite fish and chip shop, known also for their hearty salads.
You will walk off your lunch, with a first stop at the Bible Garden, one of Sydney’s secrets. These are beautifully landscaped gardens with a story. The Gardens provide you with an incredible view of Palm Beach, Barrenjoey and Pittwater. If you are still in awe of the coastline, you can then head to Whale Beach, walk the beach and have a dip.
The day concludes with a well deserved beverage at one of the marinas in the area.
